Terms of use

The plain version: we prepare and file bond claims in your name, for a flat fee. The surety decides the claim. We are not a law firm, not a collection agency, and nothing here is legal advice.

The service

FileTheBond prepares freight broker bond claims from the documents you supply, identifies the surety that held the broker's bond on your delivery date from the federal Licensing & Insurance files, presents the claim package to that surety where the surety accepts third-party submission (or delivers you a ready-to-send package where it does not), tracks the claim's clocks, and records the surety's stated outcome. The claim is yours, in your name, at every step.

The fee buys the filing — prepared right, filed on time. It never buys a recovery. Filing a claim does not guarantee payment. The bond is $75,000 per broker, shared among all valid claims against that broker; the surety may pay in full, pay in part, or refuse, and may dispute any load.

Fees

The fee is flat, by the total amount claimed against one broker: $79 for claims of $1,500 or less; $129 for $1,501 to $5,000; $189 for claims over $5,000. One fee covers every load against that broker in one package, the clock tracking and the status follow-up for that claim. The fee is never a percentage of any recovery, and FileTheBond never receives, holds or disburses recovered funds — a successful claim is paid by the surety directly to you.

Your responsibilities

The broker record

Broker pages show registry facts from FMCSA's Licensing & Insurance public files and events supported by documents on file, in two labelled tiers: carrier-filed with documents on file, and surety-confirmed. A broker may reply to any event on its page, may submit documents, and disputed events are shown with both sides' documents. An event is removed only under court order or where a document is shown to be not authentic, and every removal is itself recorded on the page. We publish no scores, ratings or reviews.
